Celebrating Our Community with Valentine Cookies

VALENTINE COOKIES • JAN DESARNO

February 2023 - Each year our Burlington Garden Club member bakers bake heart-shaped cookies for Valentine's Day for Meals on Wheels for our area and for the Food Shelf on Dorset Street.   

This tradition began in 2014, spearheaded by current Burlington Garden Club past president Jan DeSarno. Working with Age Well Nutrition and Wellness director Chris Moldovan, Jan has seen what began as a small service project, expand into a yearly, and from the feedback, a much-appreciated endeavor.

Over the years, Jan and her granddaughter Sophia and grandson JD expanded their Valentine cookie endeavor to include the South Burlington Food Shelf.
Spreading love in the delicious form of heart-shaped cookies will help make many people’s lives bright.    

15 Garden Club members assisted with their baking talents of beautiful heart shaped valentine treats.
